Top 50 most influential Vegan FB profiles to follow in 2015!

Top 50 most influential Vegan FB profiles to follow in 2015!

2015 starts with an incredible revelation: seems like each year more and more people are interested or at least curious about being vegan.

I’m a lifelong vegetarian, turned vegan 15 years ago. Back then, I had no idea there were other people in the world like me. I grew up in a small farm near the Portuguese coast surrounded by animals and nature.

I didn’t grow up in a vegetarian family. Actually, my father killed all our farm animals (in my innocent mind they were playful companions and pets). The trauma of having my companions constantly killed pushed me into being an incredibly intolerant child when it came to most animal products.

Growing up with the stigma of being the “kid who doesn’t eat like normal people” or “the kid with food issues” in a time and place where internet didn’t exist, no one had ever heard of the term “vegetarian” or “vegetarianism”, in a southern European culture where meat consumption was very heavy, was hard.

But I grew up healthy and became a vegan nomad, I’m been on a forever travel, sharing my stories with the world through my blog!

The top 50 vegan facebook profiles, gather some of the most inspiring people, changing the way the world sees veganism. It was not an easy task to get so many amazing profiles together, but it was well worth it!

My goal is to honor and thank all these amazing vegan influencers, who have a strong presence in the Facebook community and bring to light profiles a bit less known.  So let’s share the love and get ready to follow these amazing world shakers!

I probably forgot many vegan inspiring profiles, please, let me know about them on the comment section so I can include them next year!

Vegan buddy

This page is for any questions you may have had about veganism. Whether you are a new vegan, a vegetarian or just curious about veganism.

Hell yeah It’s vegan

I started Hell Yeah It’s Vegan! in November 2008 when I was feeling particularly ornery about the state of vegan food blogging. This blog is dedicated to disproving the hordes of people who think vegans can’t eat anything, that being vegan means you can’t eat the foods you grew up with, or that vegan food is not as good as non-vegan food. Although some recipes require more creativity and ingenuity than others, there is practically no food that cannot be made vegan.

Kiss me, I’m vegan

Out of a desire to share with the world this new gift that I had been given – a delicious, exciting, and kind vegan lifestyle – I created Kiss Me, I’m Vegan! in November 2008. It all started as a way to share with my family and friends how positively this way of life has affected me.

  1. Great list Yara, I knew some of the above blogs and sites but not them all, thanks for the shout out 😉

    • These are all very inspiring people, showing the world that being vegan doesn’t mean eating carrots all day and looking anemic, which is an an old misconception that is fortunately disappearing.

I wish I had so much info and role models when i was younger.

  2. Awesome list Yara! I’m not vegan but I’ve been looking to know more vegan/vegetarian bloggers out there.

    • Yes Christine, this is a great list for both vegans and vegetarians alike :)

    • Thank you for leaving your website :) There are too many amazing people I didn’t include this time, than I want to make sure will be part of my next list :)

  3. Great list. I also love the group 4A – Vegan friends :Help & Advice.

    • Thank you for letting me know! And wow, glad to know the page was on DR. Oz show, I love his show :) He’s incredibly forward thinking.

  5. Great list, thanks for sharing. When I became vegan there were hardly any online vegan resources, so it’s so nice to see how far veganism has come.

  6. Only been a vegan for 6 months and found this site and thought wow this is awesome! Then I looked at the organizations listed and was very disappointed.Peta and the other organizations in your list feel they must show the cruelty that animals go through to get the point across.I disagree with and do not support any organizations that do this which doesn’t leave very many out there to support unfortunately.Other than that I’m still happy to have found your site.and have “liked” on Facebook most.
I just hope you will consider leaving out the organizations listed and list those organizations that get the point across just as well if not better than those that choose to show animal cruelty.Trust me,it works.Thank you.

    • Hey, nice to hear from you. PETA is NOT my favorite organization at all, but this was not about favorites, but bit influencers. I do believe in showing the cruelty the way it is… We all react differently to different stimulation. There are people who will change their life style once they see what really goes on, others need a focus on the healthy side of veganism, and others are more into the environmental reasons.

So, PETA seems to reach a specific type of people, while other organizations reach other folks. All approaches are good, in my opinion.

  7. Gotta admit you do have a good point there Yara.I just don’t guess I’ll ever understand why some people have to have the cruelty shoved in their face to understand and personally don’t even know it that really works.

This is just me but I stay far away from any organizations that feel the need to show the cruelty animals go through.I hope more organizations will crop up that don’t feel the need to show the cruelty yet still get their point across and have these places shut down.

I appreciate your reply very much and will be a frequent visitor and fan of yours.

Thank you for what you do!

    • Seeing the violence is seeing how things are working behind closed doors. Some people need to know how the whole process works so they can change their minds.

I have been a vegetarian all my life, that’s because I saw my father killing, cutting and dismembering the animals when i was a child. Some were still alive and kicking and my father was cutting their heads off, blood splashing everywhere. I got so traumatized, I never, ever ate meat.

Psychology uses that strategy often, the shock therapies.

Thank you so much for your words, they mean a lot to me :) A huge hug from Portugal!

  8. I would love to be considered for next year. Sad you missed me. I write about food history and knowledge, working as a professional chef, and cooking vegan at home. Please check out my work. I garden, make art, and take photographs, mostly of food. Thank you for your interest and view…

  10. James Aspey/Voiceless365
An animal rights advocate from Sydney. Spent 2014 voiceless while he travelled Oz to promote Veganism. Actively does free inspirational, educational and compassionate talks on his journey so far. Great guy!
